Best place is http://student.spareroom.co.uk/ - spare rooms in existing flat shares

Or UBU - Bristol Students Union lettings agency - http://ubulettings.co.uk/

Or Airbnb - short-term accom in private homes (rates are per night) - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/s/bristol?p...ss_id=aw3yk4jm

    Or backpacker hostels/cheap B&Bs - http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/england/bristol/

Yup, private halls are mainly full of internationals who want to live in top spec accommodation. The state of accommodation at Bristol is kind of ridiculous; some halls have seen a rise of over £30 a week in just two years, and this includes halls owned and maintained by the university. You can see why some question the real purpose of universities.

The rent/property situation in Bristol is really going the same way as London. It's only a matter of time before foreign buyers start investing in Bristol's property (if not already) and just speed up this madness.
