Am I right to assume that young women who treat me with the most scorn may be doing so because of being keen on me and me being keen on someone else?

I know that if I am actually scornful towards someone, it's generally because I think they're really arrogant. Perhaps these girls were scornful because they knew you thought they were keen, they actually weren't, and found your arrogance in assuming they fancied you really irritating. That came out really nasty so I will cover my back and say they quite possibly did fancy you and were annoyed you liked someone else. A few years back there was a love triangle in my group of friends (very dramatic) and the girl who was rejected got really ****ty about it and basically made the guy's life hell after that. How do you know they were keen?

Actually one was just playing around with sexual attraction, but one genuinely was very keen. I knew c'os I sensed it, when she was in lessons with me ad when she went past me she looked at me then tried to make sure I didn't see her doing so. Hard to explain, but it was obvious...she was too intense also

Hmm see this is kind of what I meant....if you really think it's "obvious" from what you've described I would say the chances increase that they didn't really fancy you at all and thought you were a bit up yourself for assuming they did...Interesting apostrophising of the word "cos", by the way.

Oh well, you know what I mean. You kind give a blow-by-blow description, it's just something you strongly feel, and I sensed it. And believe me , I'm not arrogant, it's not something I often sense

actually im interested in this topic too, and im a girl.
i basically ignore this guy, who i reaaallllllyy badly fancy for like 3 years. this is because he is an **** and doesnt return my texts, plays weird mind games and is arrogant but still i luuurve him. anyway. im horrible to him because i do fancy him AND he is arrogant.
he is horrible to me because he is arrogant and i am horrible to him and he is too arrogant to see it is because he is horrible to me.

kinda complex.

another guy type of guy i'd 'scorn' is any guy who was cocky/arogant/ assumed he could be with me. fool. its kind of insulting so i would scorn him

the guy i fancy is scorned partly for this reason but partly cos i think everyone is a bit awkward around the person they luuuurve.

so it could go one of 2 ways. either the girl fancies you and is awkward and scorning you. or she thinks you are arrogant and horrible. or both.

however i disagree with your first post. i think if you fancy someone and they are with another bf/gf then i dont think that is a reason to scorn. i thin they'd have more maturity and be normal in this case even though they are hurt inside, otherwise it would be to obvious. the exception to this is if you led them on then they found you had a new bf/gf. in which case they would probably scorn you and would be right to do so

Its pretty childish if they genuinely like you, and genuinely want to piss you off. Sure if they're playing around its fine, but its ****ing obvious if they're playing around.

Generally its because they hate you. As you might have guessed. They think you're a stuck up tosser, they think you're a show off who doesn't know ****, they think you should just bugger off. Any of those really, she just hates you. Make the most of it, she'll take you so seriously, you can piss her off loads really easily. Its hilarious.

its a double bladed sword, you are either a knob or they really think you are playful, but playful doesnt neccesarily mean they like you, playful could be just as a friend.
