The only players to get into the French team on current form and ability:
Gerrard -definite
Campball- possiby

Beckham is over-rated. He can only take set pieces

Although yes France played poor last world cup so they'll have somethign to prove as will Henry, who hasn't really proved himself at the top consitently. soa lot of stake in this opener for both teams. The worst scenario would be a france win and swizt getting a win too.

if you were Sven (or Nancy) what players/sytem would you chose?
I think i'd go for:
-d.james (id actually prefer Robinson but i think u have to stick with james now as he's been a regular)
-4 across the back: neville, carragher (more experienced than king- although king is quicker), campball, a.cole
-5 in the middle: beckham, gerrard (defensive role to start with), butt(defensive mid), lampard (attacking mid.), scholes (support owen), w.brdige(to keep team balanced)
-owen upfront

not sure whether an attacking mentality is the best policy, maybe play conservatively and put in a few tackles early on.
