i think my mate's boyfriend likes me

i have only met him a few times but everytime i see him, i always find him staring at me and making silly jokes with me - which he doesn't seem to do with anyone else. some of his jokes are rather immature such as 'why pay 10 quid for someone to strip when (my name) could do it for free?'. my mate was also telling me how he criticised every other of her mates, yet said i was lovely.

am i just being silly?

and another guy problem while we're at it! there is this one guy, he always stares at me. (and no, i am not one of those girls who thinks, 'whoah, he looked at me, he must like me!') yet some of the messages he send out are mixed. on one occasion, he stared at me for about 10 minutes when thinking i was unaware. yet today, i saw him pointing at me with his friend and they bothed laughed. yet he still continues to look at me! argh, it's annoying.

or am i just being paranoid?

Yes you're being silly. Don't be so wrapped up in yourself.

I say to some of my mates that I really like their girlfriends when I don't. I even flirt with some of them to make them feel good. He is probably just doing that.

Edit: I do this to make my mates feel good about themselves. Its all about loyaty and I am fiercely loyal, you have to be in friendships. However, if the girl ever did anything out of line, they'd be dropped by all of us.

I was once in this position and I ignored it because I didn't have enough evidence to prove it to myself, let alone mention it to my friend. It would have messed up their relationship and since he never actually did anything wrong there was no need for me to say anything.

Eventually they broke up, a long time after later and for entirely different reasons, but they have a lovely relationship to look back on so I'm pleased I never said anything.

Obviously if he'd tried anything then it would've been a totally different matter. But I never really thought he would since he was quite clearly very into my friend, regardless of any signals I got from him.

Besides, the chances are that he just likes you as a person and there's nothing weird about it. It's possible that he just doesn't like her other friends at all, and thinks you're the best. This doesn't necessarily equate to him fancying you at all.

The guy who pointed and laughed doesn't sound very nice. I would've asked him about it at the time and put him on the spot and embarrassed him. Try that if he does it again.

You flirt with your friends' girlfriends because you think it will make them feel good? What planet are you on? Or do you just know weird girls?

If my boyfriend's mates started flirting with me I would feel so uncomfortable. It's a really awkward situation to be in.

Not in a serious way, I'm just a bit of a flirty jokey sort of person. No, its not wierd, its just jovial.

Edit: I can see how it sounds... I guess I made it sound worse than it is.

Not when he's with a crowd of friends!

I keep seeing him and everytime I see him, he always stares but he never says anything to me. It's so annoying! For instance, today, he was with a bunch of mates all laughing and joking as lads do, but virtually the entire time, he was looking at me.

ShinyApple, I am not wrapped up in myself, but nor am I the type of girl who needs to be made to feel good. It's just really awkward, considering its only me who he makes jokes about, or stares at. he's also extra nice to me when his girlfriend isnt about.

A little bit of me apologises, I was probably being harsh. I often am. However, I personally think you may be taking it the wrong way. There are plenty of girls that look at me, but it doesn't remotely mean any of them want to jump me, they probably just think my hair is rubbish!

Let it lie, don't worry and be happy. If he does happen to fancy you then add it to your list, its not like he's going to do anything, he has no chance.
