Wisdom teeth?

Hi everyone, just a quick question here; I'm probably about to lose my job because I've been off work sick for 2 days following an operation (not counting the day of the op, which was last Friday). I've been in hellish, screaming, biting-the-pillow-so-as-not-to-scream pain since the op and obviously haven't been able to work. I've been given antibiotics as it may be infected.

My question, however, is to anyone who's ever had a wisdom tooth out (bottom if possible, as apparently top are much easier and less painful). How long should I expect this to last? I think my job is a lost cause now but I would like to see the light at the end of the tunnel as it's driving me insane!

I'm afraid I can't comment on the pain, but from a legal point of view your employer shouldn't sack you because of this. On my basic understanding of employment law you are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay if you are sick for more than 4 days and I very much doubt they can sack you for being sick for just a few days. I think you could claim unfair dismissal at a tribunal if they did sack you.
