    Hi,
Just a question or two on base training for runners. What exactly is it and how hard shouod you be going? I really want to up my fitness (25min 5k and lower) but i realise im a beginner so i shojld get some basic fitness i try to run four times a week and do about 4 miles each time with a longwr run weekly.
I tend to go quite easy (5K pace + 1min per mile).
    How hard should i go?

I would follow a couch to 5km program, it will help you ease into running step by step, it really helped me. I would not worry about speed, I would worry about getting started and getting some mileage in.

    Go until you're sick. Repeat.

Run further, do things like hill repeats and fartlek training once a week each. Be consistent, if you're overweight lose weight.
