i hate to say it but yes ive seen people with fag burns they have had for years. make sure to put some antiseptic on it etc and when its healed a bit more maybe some vitamin e cream or something similar. its ment to help prevent scars

That's horrible, did they say sorry?!
See your doctor to check it's ok, and they might give you some cream or something to put on it so it stays clean and heals. Bio-oil (I think it's called that) is supposed to be good for scars but as it's still a fresh burn I wouldn't put anything on it unless a doctor said it was ok to do so, and also as it's right next to the eye it might not be a good idea to be slapping stuff on there. I'd get your friend to pay for any prescription or cream/oil costs too!

Hi,

My friend accidently burnt me with their cigarette last night. Its right under my eye, it looks worse this morning than it did last night. Do you think i will have a scar for ever?

Thanks

i got a cigarette burn on my arm two years ago and its still there, if i were you i'd go and see a doctor.

generally, any burn on your face ought to be looked at by a doctor, particularly if there is damage around the eyes (the skin is a lot more delicate). i'd go see your gp as soon as possible.

i got a cigar burn a couple of years ago right above my lip. it disappeared after a few weeks.

put some cream on it.

Put anticeptic on it, obviously it's sensitive skin there and there's a chance it will scar, but it's by no means certain. I'd agree with the above poster in suggesting you see a doctor though.

I've had a few burns over the years, and most of them have healed perfectly, you just have to be very careful and not get tempted to pick at them! It really depends on how deep the burn is.

Cheers guys, rang NHS direct. They told me to go to A&E. Doctor looked at it there, he said its unlikley that it will scar, just have to be wary of infections. It will suck if it does scar, i know its vain but its on my face and is pretty noticible.

I got a small cigarette burn under my left eye about two years ago, and the mark, though it has faded somewhat, has not gone and I doubt it ever will.

Well, you want to be careful since its on her face. Better safe that sorry.

someone burnt me on my arm about a year ago, and it still hasn't gone. But it has faded slightly. But it kinda depends how hard they pressed etc.

A while ago my brother had bad burns and got prescribed this by the doctor. I seem to remember it was quite hard to get hold of, something to do with shortages because it was being sent off for our troops to use. But it worked really well and he has absolutely no scarring. Maybe see if you can hold of some of it through the doctor, although it might only be available for pretty serious burns.

Got one on my hand on my 16th birthday. I can still see it. Its faded a lot but still noticable.

p.s am 21 next week if you want to send a card! :P:

I had so many cigarette burns from my grandad and father when I was a kid...

not because they abused me or anything, lol - I just used to always want to hold their hand, burrrrrrrn!

I had one on my hand before that lasted about 3-4 months then faded. Just make sure you don't pick at it once it scabs over then it shouldn't scar!
