What ID form do you get / can you use to prove you're a student on nights out if you're part of the open university? Do you get like a student ID card like main universities?

NUS card. Nothing specific from the OU, but it will say you're an OU student on the card.

You can also apply for a library card which is handy for certain things.

Would it require an ID photo for it?

Apply to SCONUL which will send you card and a letter. I used it to join for free as an external reader at my local university library which is great. I only needed the card and letter to join but I would double check with your local academic library if they require any other form of ID.

You don't get an OU student ID card. You can buy an NUS card, they send it within a couple of days.
