I have been trying to think of dissertation ideas and I am hitting a brick wall every time. I have one idea, but I feel like this wouldn't have enough academic literature on the subject.
How do you come up with a good dissertation ideas?! What kind of process do you go through?

I had a completely different experience. I was free to select whatever I wished for my dissertation with no pre-narrowed areas of interest.
I ended up taking an assignment question from an elective I did in 2nd year and making it into a question which I could talk much more about.
(Funnily enough NYU2012 I had to quickly add a chapter to my dissertation when the Govt. passed the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 because I was writing about the Justice and Security Act 2013 which essentially had its powers expanded by the CTSA)
