Hi, I won't have enough money to pay for the first installment and urgently need to know what options are available in this situation. I tried emailing student funding last week but didn't get any reply. What I was thinking is that they could just change the amount I have to pay for the first installment (I'll have enough money to pay for the second and third ones, so this makes sense.) Help is urgently needed.

Thanks

If it's just the date that's the issue, then I'm having the same problems. I phoned them however and was told you have 21 days within moving in to make the payment without being fined, so they don't pressure you for it straight away or punish you for not having it. If you still can't do it within this time, they said to get in touch with them and arrange something. They seem reasonable so I don't think we need to worry!

Thanks, that makes everything much easier then!

I'd recommend calling rather than emailing if you want an urgent response. Although as the other person has said, this shouldn't be a problem.
