Hello, I'm hoping to apply this year for 2017 entry to do an animation course. So far I'm looking at NUA, UCA Farnham, Falmouth, BU and Arts University Bournemouth. I'm hoping to book open days in late October/November because of my work shifts making it harder to go to earlier ones.

However, it seems uni stats have updated since I last checked and I can't figure out the best universities in the UK for animation. Every website says something different.

Can anyone recommend any, please, and provide some stats?

Hey ClockworkPaws,

I would strongly recommend you visit open days and then make your decision. Others than that, you can ask current students on their experience in the Uni.

You can check Ravensbourne out if you like. A few friends of mine are enjoying the course and are really recommending others to join. You can check us out if you want

Click Here for the Home page
Click Here for Animation course page
And an Open Day link if you wish to visit.

Hope this Helps

Hi ClockworkPaws,

As Kayy from Ravensbourne says, visiting Open Days is definitely a good idea! It's a great way to see if the uni is right for you and find out more about the course and local area. We've got ours coming up soon, so you can have a look at the dates here.

We're pretty proud to be home to the National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA), recognised as the best place in the UK to study computer animation and visual effects. Our graduates have gone on to work on some great films too, not least Interstellar, which won both a BAFTA and an Oscar for the visual effects.

Hopefully some of our students will be around to tell you what it's really like here, but let me know if you have any questions! And at least now you have two suggestions to get your uni search going. Stats are a bit of a funny thing - don't get too bogged down in them, there are lots of other factors that might be important to you. If you want to know a bit more about BU, we'd love you to join us on Facebook.

Best of luck with your search!

Katie

Hey! Not any of the universities you listed, but I currently study animation at Lincoln. Id definitely recommend going to an open day and having a look as what I found was that the universities I was most interested in were different to what I expected when I actually visited!! A website I can massively recommend is whatuni.com, they are great for finding other course options and looking at stats all in one place if that is really what you are after! Im 100% honest I wouldn't focus on things like unistats although I looked at them massively before I applied and they did help alot! I recommend just visiting the city and campus, meeting the lecturers and 1000% looking at past students work! If you have any questions about the subject as a course in general and any advice you need let me know! xx
