Insane Itchyness.

Brilliantly fun night last night. Every time I tried to get to sleep, I couldn't. I got panicky, nervous, twitchy and stressed... not doing anything... just lying in bed trying to get to sleep and i was hellishly panicked.

Think I managed three hours... but two days ago, my eyes started itching. Agonisingly itchy, stuck my head under water like 50 times. Faded a lil whilst I slept Thursday night, came back not as bad, in the morning.

Today its worse than yesterday... my mum thinks I have some sort of allergic reaction but to what I have no idea. Now I have itchy eyes, itchy throat, sneezing my head off and my head feels like 50 times its size... ignoring the fact I am shattered to boot...

So.. any tips that will stop the insane itching, anyone with something similar... and any tips on surviving college later...

I feel like crap :frown:

Have you had your clothes/duvet washed in a new washing up powder? If you have an allergic reaction and you can't think of anything out of the ordinary that you have eaten or used, it could be something as simple as a change in washing up powder. Been through that myself, sounds very similar to what I went through.

If it's something around you thats causing you problems, chances are when you go out you will feel slightly better because you wont be exposed to it. Whenever i've suffered something similar i've just got on with it and eventually i'll feel a bit better. Best thing to do is to try and just get on with your day as normal and see how you feel then. If you keep having problems then you should maybe go and see your doctor...

hay fever?
tis spring-ish time,so you could be reacting to the pollen in the air etc or have you eaten something unusual lately etc? :hugs:

ps: haven't seen you in ages!! :hugs:

Sounds like an allergy to me too. I've had that with one eye before (it was very itchy and red) and required eye drops. But never has it spread to the thraoat etc. Get it checked out.

Awww, I'm all remembered xD
Sorry I've been away for ages, Had the fun of doctors, drugs, tests and eventual fob off's *sigh*.

I was thinking it may be hay fever. I just walked the dog i got a little more groggy.. Gah, I blame Birmingham if I have hay fever, was fine in Wales!

Okies, going spend the weekend away from home, get my mum to make a nice list of stuff she has changed... I used to be on anti histamines when I was first over here, kept getting long white lines on my arms, vile horribly itchy but didn't make me groggy.

If I'm still crappy by next week I'll run back off to my Doc... she's not going to be happy to see me, i think she'd seen the back of me when I got fobbed of with... “you have tension headache, crossed with migraines.. or cluster headaches.. or possibly pressure, nothing I can do”

I wasn't expecting it to spread to the throat, my mum thought i'd just rubbed something on my eyes by accident till then. Ibuprofen is helping a little any how... Chemistry is going to be ... fun... to say the least.

Maybe you have a food allergy? The fact that you were feeling anxious and jittery as well makes me think you maxed out on E numbers or something.

Reply 8

The best thing to do is to go to your doctor. They'll be able to work it out easier than we will over the forum  hopefully it won't be a major thing

I usualy avoid E numbers, because of all of my migraine things they've given advice to stopthem....

One being no chocolate.. E numbers, tons of fruits etc. Heck my mum even buys the syrups with less sugar and additives in even though its more expensive. I eat no more than 2 chocolate bar's a week. Only had pancakes yesterday . Considering some carrots for brekie now....

Shockingly enough you guys on the forum give me a heck load more adivce than docs!

Hehe - is that because we know more than them, or is it purely because we think we know, whereas the docs probably don't have a clue?

The Amazon parrot is a different one - how long have you had it?

could be them too.i'm asthmatic and animal hairs make me allergic....
also it could be their feaces you're allergic to or something...especially with the mouse..... :s:

If your eyes itch its a good idea to wash your hands... you wont rub all the crap on your hands into them which will make it even worse.

Reply 16

Are you not sleeping because of the itching? Or did it come after you stopped sleeping? Because my eyes itch when I get tired, and my insomniac friend says that she gets the same thing when she's not sleeping. Something to do with your eyes not being moist enough. Have you tried eye drops? And if you wear contact lenses it might be a good idea to switch to glasses until you feel better, as they make the dryness worse.

I'm slightly Asthmatic to but that just came back up because of all the tabs. I've had the parrot since i was about 13, so about 6 years. The Mouse about 1 year... (I bought two one has allready died.) and the pup is about 6 months, But I had a dog before since I was 3...

At the rate things are going though, The mouse is ancient and the parrot is getting twitchy (Squaking non stop, were worried we can't give him what he needs any more - weve been pretty much rehabilitating him for the last few years, rescued bird and all. we might have to find some one who is more practiced with birds now so he'll be more comfortable..) Off topic ramble... steer back on path...

The itchyness was before, so it might of been that. Contact lens's icky... well not icky but I'm too nervous to try them xD

i get the same when ive been in contact with animal fur, maybe youre allergic to your pets? not nice i know, but try it, dont let them near your bed and wash your hands after petting them, it might help. and DO NOT rub your eyes when you're near them.
