I went a few weeks back.

Very impressed.

The place seems really upbeat and quite up-to-date, people and lecturers very friendly, and approachable. I felt really relaxed while I was there and got good "vibes" from the place overall.
I was particularly impressed with the Geographic Information Systems block, purpose built for the 18 or-so students who will do the same course as myself, and also the new students union bar, and also the accomocation, seemed clean and well maintained.
I found the open day very informative and helpful, and further spurred me on to want to go there!

Cheers,

Rhos.

P.S. Damn, I'm 5 minutes late for my Graphic Design lecture now, hope your happy!!

Did'nt see the Sydney block, saw it from the outside and looked very nice indeed. I think the ones we saw ere Hiscocks and something else...they were in like a block of flats, split into 4 houses. It was really sweet...

If you go for waterside court remember that you've got to pay for bus fare to the university AND you'll have to pay extra if you want to use the internet. This is what I was told when I visited.

I would be unhappy if I ended up in Waterside Court, as the above poster stated, there are many additional fee's you need to pay, and with the obvious disadvantage of it being off-campus, you will have to travel alot to and from your flat/uni, which will become tiresome really quickly, for me at least.
I would be happy in any of the accomodation on site, as it was all very nice, and adequate for living in for a short period of time (We will only be there for 266 days!) haha...
So yeah, Accomodation on campus all the way!!!

yeh there's bath uni (seems quite big) and bath spa which isnt in the town at all... bath spa is a pretty new uni aswell...but supposed to be good for english...why what did you hear?
I just heard that the accomodation wasn't great and that the support system was bad- kinda like once your there your on your own...how far is the uni from the town centre? do u know?
Reply 15
nah no clue..i'll see when I'm goin *hehe* but I think it's bout 15 min by bus from bath spa station or sumthin...not sure tho

Bath bus station to Bath Spa on the bus is about 30 mins, buses run every 20 minutes during the day and 1 an hour in the evening and at weekends.

The best accommodation on campus is Sydney, when you recieve your accommodation forms fill them out and send them back the same day as it is first come first served, the longer you leave it the less likely you are of getting any of your choices at all. Internet is free on campus, at Waterside there are two packages to choose from, £2.99 or £6.99 a week (for 40 weeks) plus a signing on fee of £25, all of this is paid for up-front.

ok this might sound stupid but what can I get from 7quid a week I cant from 3? And is it wireless access? How much would bus ticket be? Can you get one for a year or what?
I was thinking of applying to Waterside Court because of it being ensuit and in the town. I think I'd feel a bit cut-off living on campus, especially as it's half an hour away from civilisation (meaning shops and bars). But the internet seems a lot of money, and I don't think a thirty-minute bus ride to lectures everyday would be too fun. So basically I don't have a clue which I would rather apply for. Hopefully the applicants day will help me make my mind up!
