Hello lorrybeep...

The first question is a little bit difficult to answer, which building areyoutalknig about? There is a lift in the reception block, that goes up to the bar, and I believe that Redwoods, which is one of the new blocks, has a lift.

It is the closest hall to campus.

The floors are fine, I was in an old block last year, and had no problems, and I have heard of no complaints from people in the new blocks.

Hope that helps, anything else, just ask away...

This completely depends on which block you're in! I know that Redwoods has a lift, for example, and probably some of the other studio flat blocks. As far as I know none of the standard, standard plus or ensuite shared kitchen blocks have lifts, though I may be wrong. If you need a lift or ground-floor flat for physical/medical reasons then you should put so on your form and you'll get priority for those flats.

Yes, Broadgate is the nearest self-catered residence to University Park, though it is on the west side of campus - so be aware that there might not be a huge time difference between Raleigh/SPC and Broadgate for getting to the QMC for example.

Again, the thinness of the floors depends on the block you're in - though in my ensuite block you can definitely hear if doors are opened/closed from the flat above and running, shouting etc, though not usually normal walking and talking. To be honest it's not a huge issue.

Hi! Thanks guys

I'm interested in one of those large en-suit studio rooms. Which block are they located? (if broadgate park locate rooms to blocks based on their types).. and I hope theres a lift in the block i will be interested in..?

Is there any better accom you would recommend to a postgrad? I'd prefer somewhere near the uni park, safe of course and quiet..

Large studio rooms are in either Redwoods, Larches or Hemlocks, so maybe you'll be in one with a lift. If you have any special reason for needing a lift then you should put this on your application form. From what I hear those blocks aren't particularly noisy, and have a fair number of post-grads or second/third years.
