I would pick Cardiff - but I'm biased and I don't know anything about Royal Holloway. Sorry, that's no use to you whatsoever!

I had to make this choice last year, except for history, and I ended up picking RH and I'm really enjoying it.

RH has a very good course in IR and also management is meant to be pretty sound.

I would choose royal holloway...but only becuase I wish i had applied there and also becuase i would never go to cardiff. Also out of the two the course at RH sounds more interesting.

They're both supposed to be good uni's so it's really down to which ever impresses you most at the open day. Good luck deciding

The courses sound a bit different, so find out as much as you can about what modules you'd do and how many options you'd have. There might also be differences in the number of contact hours, the balance between lectures and other teaching methods such as seminars and the balance between exams and coursework, so that's something else you could look into. In terms of the uni, it depends what kind of atmosphere you're looking for. Royal Holloway is in a tiny village called Egham where there's hardly anything to do, I've heard the student union isn't all that and it's really expensive, whereas although I've never been to Cardiff and don't know much about it, it's bound to be more lively being a city and it's probably cheaper. I don't know if it's a campus uni though, but Royal Holloway is.

have you looked around both unis? i cant say anything for the course your studying but in cardiff i looked round the music department and i instantly knew i didnt want to go there, its supposedly gud for music but the deparment was tiny!also the place just didnt seem that friendly. royal holloway is an amazing site, founders building can make anyone jealous people seemed v friendly. but as both of the unis are supposdely near a big city maybe you want to be v close to one this is the only bad thing i can think about RH as it isnt realy close like a train ride and a 40min bus ride away from london.

I had to make the same choice last year .... instead I had RH, Cardiff and Sheffield. I went for sheffield as insurance and bristol as firm. Couldnt get into bristol..so sheffield it was !! Anyways...i recommend cardiff.. good place, good course.

I would pick Cardiff but I'm absolutely biased on this.

I think Royal Holloway has a rather crap administration. You see, I ordered a prospectus last year at this time and I got it last week along with a letter saying that I should pick them. "Too late" Also last year their website was rather messy with broken links and outdated resources (the online prospectus was from 2004 or something). Today I heard about someone who got a home status form to fill in. He filled it in and sent it back. Then they called him up saying that they gave the wrong form. They sent it again and it was the exact same form...

So you see, if the uni can't even make a decent website or do the admissions properly, you should think about it twice.

wow. odd how everyone seems to have similar choices with RHUL

i know what umena about accomdation, but in their defence they did lose some property this year or something.. so im hoping its a one off in failingness and its sorted out finally

What offer did you get to do management/international management at RH?

Is it BBB?

I hope you don't mind me saying, but I believe Brunel may be a waste of a valuable UCAS spot. As they have relatively low entry requirements and have a non-existent business rep, I would also consider replacing QMUL as their business rep isn't very good, not warranting the high requirements which are similiar to other unis with the same requirements but better rep & quality courses
Take it from me I went through similiar choices.
