RAF Eyesight

So here's my problem.. I've been wanting to join the air force since I was 9 and it was all going well.. until my last opticians appointment where my eyesight slipped from +6.00 in my right eye to +6.5

As you probably know, +6.00 is the maximum (unless i join as a chaplin... :unimpressed:

)

Is there no way i would be allowed to enter without getting laser eye surgery?

The first thing you should do is get in touch with your local AFCO - they will have experience of this and know if it is a bar to entry or not. Other than that I think the doctor who carries out your medical will have the final say (may be considered on a case by case basis).
