Habs is a great school, great results etc though I don't know about the people. Francis Holland is excellent too but depends on which one, one of them has a reputation for having a lot of sloanes there (the chelsea one me thinks but I may be wrong).

Was considering going there in year 7 and got in after entrance exam and whatnot, but theres a fairly nearby boys grammar just as good and a lot cheaper

Q.E. I'm guessing...

Well you would say that wouldn't you.

Q.E. is clearly a school which creates years of fear and misery for its pupils. When I sat the entrance exams there the atmosphere both times was absolutely cold. I felt completely unwelcome. Habs is a pleasant friendly school with a huge campus, lovely grounds and fresh air. You pay for a better quality of life...For those who fear it's in the middle of nowhere, so what? It's not as if you're going to go out raving whilst your at school anyway.

Anyway, if you're desperate you have Central London half an hour away, and Watford 15 minutes away by car. It's not in the middle of nowhere really.

Habs is by far the best school academically out of those 3 (both boys and girls schools being amongst the best in the country).

By the way, Sacha Baron Cohen is not the only famous almnus to have gone to Habs. They also have Matt Lucas, David Baddiel, Damon Hill and William Sutcliffe (author of the New Boy, basically based on his direct experiences of life at Habs if anyone is interested). We have a penchant for producing famous comedians.

You will enjoy your time at Habs in the 6th form if you go (I'm assuming that's what level you'll be entering). I know I certainly had a great time.

Thanks so much for answering, everyone. I'm def. going to Haberdashers' now, I have accepted their offer.

Do you know if they have free periods (Just want to make sure...) and can you can leave if you don't have any lessons? I forgot to ask when I had the interview with the head teacher.

Thanks again.

You can only leave after 1 when you're in the upper 6th (yr13) and we get loads of frees
