What books to mention on an english personal statement?

Im in the middle of writing my english personal statement but I'm unsure of what books to include. I realise that I need to show a breadth of reading but I'm not sure what to mention.

I really enjoy fantasy novels but I'm worried about mentioning this incase its looked down upon. Is it a bad idea include it?

Liking a book is purely subjective of course but if anyone could suggest a few books to give me some inspiration then i'd really appreciate it!

Your personal statement is supposed to reflect your personality and your love for the subject. Personally I would say just include the books that you really love, there is no point including books that you don't like or forcing yourself to like any books. However, you need to emphasise why you like those books or that author etc. Also maybe include plays or poems as well as books?

The main thing is that your passion for the subject comes across in your personal statement more than anything else.
