HYPSM+Oxbridge are the best universities, don't care what the ranking says..........
Great to see St Andrews now solidly in the top 100 in the world!

Great to see Warwick rising so much up the charts!
TSR will disregard this because they think Oxford cannot be better than Cambridge.

I'm actually surprised this thread hasn't blown up yet

Just a question: Why can there be such a discrepancy between the national rankings and international rankings? KCL, for instance, regularly achieves a similar position in both the international rankings (27) and national rankings (21) whilst other universities which achieve very highly nationally (Surrey, Lancaster, Exeter, Bath) don't perform well on international rankings... What is the reason for this, and which list is more reliable?

Exeter is ranked in the top 100 of universities worldwide. How is that not performing well in International rankings?

It's still (relatively) lower there than it is in the national ones. Ok so it probably isn't the best example and I apologise for that... But the question is still valid, other universities' results are very different in the national and international rankings: why?

Because domestic rankings take into account of student satisfaction and entry tariffs, and they calculate graduate prospects differently.

What he said, all rankings have different methodologies, analyse them and see which ones are more suited towards your needs
Good list.

I find it surprising that the LSE is 23rd. Would have expected them to be a lot higher up.
