Need some friends my age

Ok Im one of those who has depression and anxiety etc and want to make some new friends. I go to a sports club but people there are more older and aquaintances and at college they are more aquaintances too as I live 45 mins away. Im not going to uni just yet even though im 21 and wondered how possible it is to make friends with someone my age on the street when taking the dog for a walk for example lol. I live in a really quiet area and its 25 minutes walk into town, I don't have a paid job but at my voluntary job the people are middle aged so again its hard. There are mainly gangs of kids knocking about where I live but no one my age:confused: There used to be but I think they have all moved out and got there own lives like I should be doing.

Im stuck, help!

Find a job at a nearby pub or restaurant or something, there tend to be young workforces there.

Depends if the OP is up to working at the moment though. There's this social inclusion thing round here, maybe there's a similar scheme near you... if you don't want to try new things and go out to new clubs etc on your own, or anything really, you can get assigned a volunteer who will go with you to up to 6 things, it makes the first time(s) less scary (apparently, though I'd have thought meeting the volunteer was quite scary in itself at first). That's if you feel you need someone to do it with you of course, if you want to go ahead and go to a class of some kind or join a club, that's a great starting point.

Oh and about Facebook - BAD idea. You will find all the people you used to know and they will undoubtedly have loads of photos of them having a fantastic time wherever they are now. It won't make you feel better, lol!

When i need friends i just go into town and start offering random strangers maltesers. It generally works
