Hello everyone, I'm in my final year of an engineering degree and all of the females have dropped out who made up 2% of the course. I really want to switch courses to something more female-friendly because I reckon I have what it takes to finally court a being with no Y-chromosome as I've been studying james bond since new years... Please give statistics when recommending a degree

Google unistats.

Search a course, flick through the tabs and there's info about female:male ratio.

Expect stuff like fashion, English, sociology, psychology to be high female:male.

PS, I'd think more carefully about transferring in your final year just because of the lack of women. Join some societies and meet some there I guess.

Photography, yeah.

You'll get the edgy, hipster types.

What the **** you can't be serious? You're really going to transfer to a different course just to get some fanny? Join some societies, get a job in retail, get out more, you'll meet plenty of females!

I've heard that Nursing and Medical care professions are just as dominated by women as Engineering is by men. It's also a field that's in demand, they always need more doctors and nurses. I don't think it's too girly for a man to go into that field. I have an uncle that's a male nurse, and he was in the military at one point.

Still, that doesn't seem like a very good reason to change your major when you're so close to finishing.

don't drop out of an engineering degree. there's little to no point in doing engineering if you don't go all the way to an MEng because you can't become a chartered engineer. unless you want to go into finance or smth???

btw what type of engineering? mechanical?? (me too hopefully)

It's easier when you have a seminar together though because they have no choice but to eventually talk to you when you get put together for group work
