I'm not really sure what you should eat. But when i feel like that i munch on toast and make myself have lots of water.

Is it true that Cola can stop nausea ?

I'm drinking loads of water, but was just wondering.

Ginger can apparently help stop you feeling sick. Ginger biscuits for example are recommended for sea sickness and morning sickness. Hope you get better soon! :smile:

I don't think teh coke thing is true tbh. I get this a lot and find if you have some soup, like chicken soup, and have something a little sugary or maybe have some tea with a little sugar then go for a walk outside that helps :smile: but honestly as difficult as it is you do have to eat because i get nausea when i wake up but have to force myself to have breakfast otherwise i get worse and feel faint. Hope this helped :smile: x

I sometimes feel really sick before my periods?

Or if i'm really worried about something?

Pepto-bismol is your friend. It'll layer your stomach in a thin sheet of plastic so you'll be able to stomach food, it's kind of like an artificial answer to milk - just better. Use it sparingly, as in don't get into habit of using it whenever you feel sick but only when you totally require it like now.

Drink lots and lots of water. When I was similarly ill last year I drank a glass of water every hour, and while it wasn't fun going to the toilet all the time it did actually make me feel better.

Treatment

While short-term nausea and vomiting are generally harmless, they may sometimes indicate a more serious condition, such as Celiac Disease. When associated with prolonged vomiting, it may cause dangerous levels of dehydration and/or electrolyte imbalances.

Symptomatic treatment for nausea and vomiting may include short-term avoidance of solid food. This is usually easy as nausea is nearly always associated with loss of appetite. Dehydration may require rehydration with oral or intravenous electrolyte solutions. Oral rehydration (drinking water) is safer and simpler in most cases. Also, eating a small amount of ginger can help sooth the feeling of nausea.

There are not many antiemetics (drugs to suppress nausea and vomiting), although researchers continue to look for more effective treatments. Also available are a variety of noninvasive, mechanical devices used to suppress nausea due to motion sickness, but these products are seldom tested in a laboratory setting.

Other Causes of Nausea:

* Addison Disease
* Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse
* Appendicitis
* Brain Tumor
* Bulimia
* Cancer
* Certain Medication
* Depression
* Diabetes
* Flu
* Food Poisoning
* Gastroenteritis (Stomach Flu)
* Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
* Gastroparesis
* Heart Attack
* Hydrocephalus
* Kidney Failure
* Migraine
* Pancreatitis
* Peptic Ulcer
* Sleep Deprivation
* Tobacco Smoking / Second-hand Smoke
* Vestibular Balance disorder
* Viral Hepatitis

Isabella - this sounds like exactly what I had two years ago. I couldn't eat a thing - not even dry toast. I had it for about three weeks, and then it would come back periodically over the period of about 5 months. I wasn't sick and I didn't have a bad stomach, I just felt terribly terribly sick and couldn't bear to eat anything.

Try Motilium 10: it's for queasy stomachs, and I found it to be wonderful. It really helped me feel a lot better. You can buy it at the chemists.

This sickness things was one of the worst illnesses I've had: I felt like it had beaten me. I could hardly eat anything so I was really weak, and I couldn't concentrate. It made me feel really down too, so I kept crying. :frown: Here's hoping that you get better soon!!!

Edit: I went to the doctor and they found that I was very anaemic - maybe you should go and get a few blood tests done??
