Strange depressed feelings, Dont know why :(

For somereason today everytime i think about the september to december period coming up (even thoe its months away) i can't help but feel really down, anxious and depressed about it.
I suffer from anxiety disorder and S.A.D, so i know winter months are always worse, but i dont usually think about it so badly.
Im not sure what im asking really lol, perhaps some advice or opinions on it all.

I didn't know it flared up in the winter months..
Try and get your mind off things and do something fun

Ive just posted a thread on anxiety and a bad aunt lol, I think I kinda know what your going through cause I think certain things and go into like depressed/anxious moods. Its like my brain becomes really sensitive all of a sudden. When you think about the winter months do you think about snow christmas and new year? ie the positive side of winter? (or supposed to be) Try and think of celebration nights like bonfire night and plan a halloween party. You could maybe plan a holiday abroad just before winter to cheer up a bit, unless your like me and anxious about going on holiday lol. Try to think of good things about these months like playing games with friends and family indoors or something. Your mood will most likely be different at times like these.
Sorry if I sound stupid lol

Yeah like that, and i have 5minute periods of being ok then im back to feeling like this again, and before today i never felt this way.
But my mood has been weird the last week its literally been high one day then low the next day then high the next day.

I have tried that but no luck, i think thats because i did feel kinda lonely over last christmas, i had my mum and dad with me and that was real good of course.
But i did get abit down because, all my close mates had gf's to be with etc same for new year so that didnt help.

Im exactly the same expecially over the last few days Ive not done anything except go anxious/depressed and then back to normal, all day its just energy draining. Whatever way your feeling now though it doesn't mean you will be the same when winter comes, I know its hard to believe.
Have you seen someone about this, if so how long ago? Just try and concentrate on now because the clocks go forward in a week or two summer is comming up and luckly there will be another heatwave like last year, hopefully not as hot lol. Things change and you might even meet someone for yourself and spend christmas with them who knows.

I know this won't stop the way your feeling now but you could try talking to a councellor or someone for now, thats what im doing.

Whatever way your feeling now though it doesn't mean you will be the same when winter comes,

I do try to think like that, because as i put before i didnt think like this until today for somereason

Its been 4 years since i saw someone when i was 17, and it did help alot i still had anxiety but i could cope with it and i was happy up until well last year, for many reasons, i do think about the summer months coming up hopefully ill pick up then

I have heard light therapy can help, but i think the lights themselves are quite expensive. Have you been to your GP? They might be able to offer some help/advice :smile:

Yeah i do have one of them light boxes and they do help alot, infact it helped so much i stopped using it for like 2 weeks because i thought i didnt need it now, thats when i got real low again weather thats because of not using the light box or its just pure coincidence im not sure.
So i started using it again now to see how it goes, not spoken to my gp yet thoe i would if it all carried on to the point i couldnt take it anymore.
I been use to having the odd bad day with anxiety so im waiting to see if this is just one of them phases.

I been up down up down, when i woke up this morning i was ok, then i was down later on but had sort of 5 or 10minute periods of being ok.
Then i went out with mates i wasn't to bad but my anxiety dont help in public situations, then since i got home about hour ago i been down again but with the same short periods of feeling ok.

hm it seems you need a distraction even if it does make you more anxious like going out. Make yourself do things even if you don't want to such as sport, go for a walk. Also have you tried reading? If you get into a book you should feel better.

Sports and a walk are what i need more of, i not tried reading as im not much of a reader.
