There was a simliar thread here a few weeks ago, but a girl in this guys position!

In the other thread-people went mental about 'how wrong' it was, but (I agree with everyone btw-i think its fine) here, people are really ok with it

Whats the difference? Is it just people are really sexist?

No - that was an actual teacher, this is a classroom assistant.

Thanks for the positive response guys - an gals. You are right - my relationship with Marie until after exams will be kept very discreet - tho Its so tempting to say something when most of the other guys in my class fancy her like hell.

My French before I met her was distinctly average - standard B, shes improved me so much - I'm now high A - 270/300 after resits!! , I owe her a lot in tht respect.

Shes going back to France at the start of summer - for 6 weeks, I'll definitely see her if it becomes serious.
Do you think age makes a difference, if you like someone a lot? Especially if the woman is older - I was brought up in a society where thts is frowned upon - so I'd like to see wt u guys think.

Great stuff mate. Go for it; i'll be doing A2, let's hope we have a fit one next year! Had an unbelievably gorgeous one when i was in Year 8 but i was a sweet, naive and unfortunately fat boy back then :p:

nahh nothing wrong with an older woman mate, go for it. Good luck

Reply 25

*sigh*. Lucky git!

All I can be happy about is that I'm still beating you at my french :p: - 277/300 plus the final written paper which I sat in January (110/120 and six months early)!

More seriously though, I agree with the others here - keep it quiet, and don't allow yourself to think there's anything wrong with it. There isn't. And relationships can work with any age gap - in fact I'm quite envious of the few guys who have relationships with slightly older women as I feel they gain a lot in terms of maturity from it!

- Just my few thoughts ,

- me.

I think that you should keep it quiet and ensure that the relationship doesnt show in public.

Reply 27

Yeah keep it quite...you dont want it getting out...could be rather messy...but you have full bragging rights in june! And nothing wrong with the age gap, im seeing a 30yr old, and its been the best time i've ever had!

One of my assistants who I had a few years ago was really nice. I think he liked me too, but I never told him properly because I don't think he wanted to do anything about it. I gave him my address but he never wrote to me.

Hi guys,

I'm 18, doing my A Levels, and at school we got a new French assistant called Marie. I fancied her ever since I saw her - her lovely smile, her amazing body - sexy accent etc - Shes just turned 23. I could tell the feeling was mutual - it was pretty clear she was into me too:smile: QUOTE]

why does the word "french" teacher gives an impression that all "french" girls/teachers are hot???????????????????

not all french people are hot...

Actually, there's a quite-hot geography teacher at our school who seems to be new (or at least i've only noticed her recently). But I don't have any classes with her and I think I'll stick to simply making all the girls my age drool over me instead!

He wasnt that much older then this french woman.

But also, isn't the professional relationship between teaching assistant-student the same as teacher- student?

Is there much difference ?

Classroom assistants are not in loco parentis like teachers; their posts are also usually temporary and they often aren't fully qualified (especially in the case of language assistants, who are quite often just students on a British Council scheme).
So no, it's not the same as a teacher-pupil relationship.
Having said that, though, if any abuse did take place, it would still be taken seriously.
