Nottingham vs Edinburgh vs King's

Hi!

I need your advice.

Recently I have been offered places on these courses: MSc in International Business / Nottingham, MSc in Management / Edinburgh, MSc in International Management / King's College, and MA in International Business Management / Newcastle.

Now I am struggling do decide which course to choose. Ideally, I would like to work in banking, or investment, etc.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

PS: I have decided to decline the offer from Newcastle.

Hmm...if you wanna work in London I'd go with Kings'. Otherwise it's really just the place/course you like best, as to be honest, you've got offers from 3 fine institutions! (i am a st andrews student so i shouldnt praise edinburgh, but...its alright i guess:P)

What was wrong with newcastle?? If I may ask!

Does Edinburgh have a strong rep in this field? I have no idea.

That is the whole point. Since all 4 universities have a good reputation it makes it much harder for me to decide.

Why not Newcastle? The Master's is not science-based, and it wasn't on top of my choice list anyway. I applied just in case :p: I got a conditional offer 30 min after I'd replied. That's rather impressive!

How come you've got so many rejections? If I may ask

I'm not sure either. Edinburgh is, without doubt, a great uni. Yet I think that Nottingham or King's are better for business. Such a dilemma! :s-smilie:

Exactly. Everything I know about those universities is through web-based information + ratings. That's all:frown: It's soooo difficult!
If only I'd been offered one place...

King's is not known for business tho. Notts has a business school. Should compare their career prospect, facilities, living expenses..etc. Have you visited both unis? London vs. Notts lolz its your call.

Personally I think Edinburgh has the best reputation as universtiy and it's MBA ranked the highest among these unis. Assuming the FT ranking is right, the Edinburgh management school should be your best bet. But, of course, if you want to stay in London, then King's is your pick.

Well, I was strongly recommended King's by my boyfriend. His ex did a Master's there, and got a great job in the City. Apparently, King's is well-recognised in the US (I didn't say that:smile:) My ideal choice would be Nottingham (visit to China in the 2nd term), although a lot of people say I should choose either Edinburgh or King's (for the location).

The critical consideration for me is which uni will best get me in touch with big city financial institutions and banks, and where I can best do my dissertation (again King's and its location).

Regarding the money matter, my boyfriend lives in London (so then again - King's).

However, I have heard a lot of bad things about King's (racism, crap library, dismissive and unhelpful lecturers, etc.).

Yet the decision has to be made.

Thanks for the info. I will be doing MSc, not MBA. But I presume the FT ranking of the Edinburgh management school is for MSc's too.

I'm not Scottish.

Seriously, Scotland is an amazing place for so many reasons. I would jump at the Edinburgh opportunity.

I don't know much about Scotland, have only been to Glasgow. I really enjoyed the city. Cool place:smile: Are you in Scotland at the moment? Where abouts?

Scotland is an awesome place, but then again, Nottingham's hardly a dump.
