Do you think I can get away with just studying 2 out of the 4 chapters in Unit 1?

Unit 1's content is really kinda heavy? I'm having difficulty in understanding Unit 1.1 which is Democracy and Political Participation. Can anyone advise me?

That was exactly what I did for the paper in the 2015 exam. I studied 2/4 for Unit 1 and 3/4 for unit two. It was quite a big risk but overall I got 183/200 UMS for it.

I would say be careful about not doing all four for Unit 2 but there's no harm in only doing two for Unit 1 - it will make your life easier.

They're relatively the same you just need to know how to answer the questions and structure them .
Unit 1 isn't that bad even though we started late we're just rushing through it but overall You just need to know the key points and how it works and must importantly your terminology

Don't risk studying 2, study 3 topics so if a hard question comes up you always have a back up.
Political participation is when you take part in politics it could be voting, signing e-petitions etc.

I know this is late... but I'm retaking it also and I am revising three just to be safe. Try doing elections, and pressure groups as they are definitely smaller than party policies and ideas. My three are democracy and political participation, part policies and pressure groups. Because im doing A2 and learning about idealogies anyway, it basically the same thing

Oh and i definitely recommend reading the politics review, if you don't have it they have articles about all the stuff we are learning and up to date case studies and facts and tips on how to answer. They are a lifesaver

Guys such a question will most surely appear:

"To what extent has the Labour Party returned to its socialist roots ?"

My teacher on his blog states how to answer this:

http://desouzasdigest.com/politics-i...ocialist-roots

Also maybe expect like a question on "Is there really a difference between Labour and COnservative" where u may be required to talk about Corbyn s labour to hit KIC (Knowledge, Intellectual Skills, COmmunication skills) it! :

http://desouzasdigest.com/politics-i...lly-difference

Good luck to everyone and all the best !!! I'm sure you can all do it
