My friend's friend got rejected from SOAS uni and she emailed them to ask why since she really wanted to go there, after some consideration they apparently gave her a place.
Reply 6
I have heard of some unis doing this if they get the impression that they are your sixth choice and you ring up and show interest.
Reply 7
I know a lot of people who have contacted unis after being rejected to change their mind. Most of them don't manage to change the uni's mind but some have been fortunate enough to do so. Not easy though.
Reply 8
Yep a friend of mine managed to appeal to Sussex uni to accept him after they rejected him. Certainly possible.

Bristol changed my place, I emailed and elaborated on some developments and made some things clearer than I had in my personal statement. It took a while of prompting and making sure the application went to the right place, but in the end it got sorted fairly easily.
I doubt it, to be honest (unless there was some kind of admin error like your teachers putting down the wrong predicted grades or you have extenuating circumstances you forgot to tell them about) but it's worth a try if you really want to go there.
YUPS!!! ME ME ME!!! (But slightly different scenario) I got rejected from two courses at my Uni, then I appealed for them to transfer my application onto another course and it worked
"Let me in!"
"No."
"Please?"
"Hmm. We've underestimated this one."

I suppose there is a chance a telephone call or e-mail could redress the balance that between universities accepting incredibly bright applicants who may subsequently go on to decline their offers and rejecting less-than-stellar applicants (I say this with greatest respect) who have their hearts set on going there.
