New medication

Hi there,

I started new medication yesterda (escitalopram) and it is yet another antidepressant, as I have been on a lot in the last few years....

Anyhow, about an hour or so after I took the first tablet yesterday I felt slightly sick, and yes Nausea is a side-effect (most common) although I wasn't, but I hadn't eaten all day and struggled with my dinner and some chocolate later.

Today I tried to eat some soup before I went to work, but couldn't and therefore I just seem to have no appetite at all, I have only just started this medication - do you think their could be a link?

Today I generally don;t feel well, I have a really tight chest, been coughing and wheezing and I am asthmatic, but my inhalers have had limited effect.

I don't know whether I should keep taking it, or wait till I'm due to see the octor next week, as I don't want to bother her before then but then again I will need to eat something, but I don't know maybe it's just a coincidence I have lost my appetite, and is down to be just not feeling that great.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

I would suggest getting in contact with your doctor to explain the situation

I would, it's just I feel that I already take up too much of her time and don't know if I should wait till next week, when I am due to see her :s-smilie:

What about over the phone.

Ring the doctor and explain what's going on, it's better to be safe than sorry. Don't worry about bothering her or taking up too much of her time, it's her job; she's there to help you
