# Anyone just do OCR S3 this morning? watch

1. So what did you think? I thought it was quite tough compared to the past papers I have done. The confidence intervals question (3) took a while to figure out (and I still don't know if I was on the right lines) and the continuous random variables question (6) was very nasty! The last question was ok but I had to rush because I was short on time. 1 hour 20 minutes is NOT enough time to do one of these papers properly, apart from the 1's and a few 2's. But I suppose doing the paper accurately and quickly is part of the challenge. Ah well.
2. i did the paper too! it was a toughish paper you're right - harder than the past papers. the first question was typical and so i thought 'wicked this shud b a good paper!' but er the i kinda mucked up find the smallest value of n one and the weird one with the beach and 300sinX
was in a state after exam cz dont think ill get the grades to go ucl any more after that P3...
maths was meant to be my guaranteed A.
ah well i guess ill take a gap year and reapply... poop.
3. I thought it was quite nice actually. The continuous random variable one was only real nasty one.

For quest 3 i got n=70. That took some thinking.

For the continuous random variable, I got F(Y) = 2/pi(sin^-1[x(300)]

E(Y) was 600/pi.

Err can't think of much else!
4. question six on S3 chapter one a little harsh, but then i'm hoping as i do with all statistic modules that i get my method marks.

who cares if my outcomes were wrong, i delieberately wrote my hypos and the variables and the chi's so clearly they can't not give me my marks!!!!!!!

see, if you can't drive down the motorway, take the side routes.
5. well i reckon i got about 90 - 100 ums on that paper soooo...

that means i'll need about 10% in m3 for my A
6. I thought it was a very nice paper. As some of you pointed out, question 6 was the only real problem.

Jonas, for Q6, are you sure you don't mean 300/x?

7. nope i got 600/pi, check my answers on the academic discussions page

EDIT: oops thinking about something else, yup i meant sin^-1(x/300)
8. i definetely had 2/pi sin-1 x/300 i think. and the answer to that last section was somethign like 0.78 i think.
