similar but id say City and SOAS > QM. Personally id probably take Soas, but city has really good postgrad courses but undergrad isn't so great.

what about just for undergrad

SOAS > City > QM.

(although QM is prob better for "conventional" economics...but i still think SOAS is better...dunno about other places but at my school QM has a v.bad reputation)

Why don't you like QM? It's very high in Guardian rank so it does matter. It's far better assessed than City

City is the best career wise.

Guardian rankings are widely acknowledge to be bs
Wiseguy.
City is the best career wise.

I think you're confusing City as a university with Cass Busines School. I highly doubt that Economics at City is more respected by employers than economics at SOAS. I just Googled it (yeah I'm bored), City wants BBC and SOAS wants ABB.
erm yeah city is so great *rolleyes*, all the claims made by that uni are nearly all made up. There is no option to take outside modules, if you do so, its frowned upon, and disliked by course convenors. They claim to provide students enrolled on economics courses with a year in industry, which they offer you zero help for. The course is pretty standard and is more or less the same as QMs economics.

Soas out of all three would be the best option, plus its UoL college and you could ahve the option to take econ modules at places like UCL, LSE *i think*. QMs economics is not too bad, from what i've heard i know a few people there, there are some who are leaving and going to very good employers and good schools for masters.

But im bias, i'd go for soas since i like development. If you want career prospects your better of at QM or city.

No i'm not you b!tch.
lol alright calm wiseguy. and to shadylane, city is apparently according to the times 4th for employment.
Yes because of sandwich years. SOAS as a university is 18th in the Times, City is 53 I believe. The course at SOAS is no doubt better, the quality of students is no doubt better, and the fact that you can take outside modules at other UoL unis like LSE and UCL puts it as far as I'm concerned light years ahead of City.

Imagine an interview at an investment bank:

Employer: "So why did you study at SOAS?"
Student: "I am very interested in developing countries, particularly the emerging markets. For example India (something economic) and China (something economic), which I learned about in one of my modules."
Employer: "OK that's interesting, well what else have you done?"
Student: "I also took a very challenging module at UCL on econometrics, it was (explanation)."

I think that's employable. Call me crazy...
of course i've sed id prefer soas easily, hands down.
