Grrrr... Completely useless 'friend'

There is this guy I hang out with at college, a so called 'friend'. However, since day one he has been virtually taking advantage of me. He always comes to me asking for help with his homework. Me being myself, I never say 'no' and always agree to help him out. However, this is where the problem lies. Once I've finished helping him with his homework or whatever, he doesnt want to know me! He bitches about me behind my back, and is a complete and utter moron to me. Ive helped him time and time again, got him out of various messes, and its been virtually all taking and no giving. This is the reward I get for helping him, I'm vitually tossed aside and ignored once I've helped him. It has now come to the point that, I absolutely hate him, and still agree to help him. Im too shy to tell him to p**** off or stop using me. How do I get the message across to this moron I dont want to know him anymore? There's only so much a person can take. I've had enough.

long walk, short pier springs to mind...

but seriously, I know how hard it is to say no, work yourself up from little things he does untill he texts/calls/msn's you then a swift no or I'm busy...good luck.

If I were you just say no next time he asks you to help him and if he says why explain how is is making you feel.

Why are you friends with this person? Don't let them use you!

why is there so many posts like this on this forum.

if you let people walk all over you then they will

I wish dueling was still legal, it would sort this problem out once and for all.

loflz just tell him you are busy every time and he will get the idea.

Stop laying down on the floor and he'll stop walking all over you. You can't really complain if you are letting him use you. It's as much your fault as it is his.

I agree with the rest of them, keep saying you're busy. And if you don't like confrontation, when he asks if you've done the homework yet, just say something like "no, I haven't got round to it yet" and act like you're one of those really disorganised ppl who don't do anything til the absolute last minute, leaving him no time to copy it. And if he asks for help anyway, just say "sorry, I won't know how to do it til i've worked it out myself".

Or if you really don't like being thought of as a poor student, bite the bullet and tell him you don't want to help him because he always takes advantage of you and you never get anything in return, and you're fed up with it.

Good luck! :-)
