Heel Bruising - Help

Today while playing football, I went in for a tackle that was few metre away from me, and I sort of stepped on the ball, somehow bruised my right foot's heel.

It's painful to walk with my right foot, so I have to walk tip toed. (When I touch the floor with the heel, it really hurts) I know it is a bruising because I don't feel any muscle stretched etc, heel is a bit swollen, so prolly a bruising.

Does anyone know any way that I could 'reduce' the bruising. Im currently using this medicine spray which helps with bruising. It's pretty good but Im not sure it is good enough for me to walk to school 2moro.

Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Cold packs for 20 mins every few hours + 400mg's of ibruprofen every 4 hours (max 1200mgs a day)

Both of those should ease pain and bring down the inflamation.

Don't you apply cold packs straight after the injury? It's been about 4 - 6 hours since Ive had this injury, cold pack still work? Btw by cold pack do you mean anything thats erm coming out of the freezer :s-smilie:, like frozen peas or w/e would they work lol.

Frozen peas are perfect. Wrap them up in a teatowel if they're too cold to apply directly.

You'll get benifit from cold packs for about 72 hours after the injury where inflamation still remains

Ah nice I'll try that in a sec. Cheers for that. Since its bruising do you think it'll calm down a bit 2moro? Like would I be able to walk 2mo?

There is a small chance you have a fracture but its unlikely. Best course of action is to try to give it rest (along with the Ibru and ice) and see how it is in a day or so.

You can get these special gel packs for your feet, to help with soreness/burises usually they sell them in boots or superdrug.
