I'm currently in my 3rd year on the Microbiology course and we have to write a dissertation on either recombinant DNA technology in mouse models, the normal structure, function and biological activities of tumour suppressor protein p53 and its gene family or breast cancer. I chose the one about p53 and, since I know these are the same questions that were asked of last year's 3rd year class, I was wondering if there's anyone on here who has done this dissertation. Hopefully there is because I'm struggling to find enough information to cover 4 A4 pages on the normal structure and function of the p53 gene family. If there is anyone here who has done this dissertation could you possibly give me some clues as to the best places to find decent references please. All I keep finding is stuff on p53 in cancer cells and we're not sure if we're allowed to reference textbooks even though they told us to do some background research in textbooks. Thanks.
