Lump on the shaft of my penis

I was circumsised about 7months ago and are 18years old.

Everything has been fine expect for the last couple of months when I noticed a small lump on the side of my penis.

At first, I thought it was nothing but when I went to the toilet earlier I noticed it more and have suddenly been getting alarm bells that it might be cancer.

It's weird because its only sometimes that I notice the lump (depending on the size of my penis). There are no signs of it there when I'm erect but there are sometimes signs when I'm not.

I had a quick google of it, and it says that most penile cancer would be on the glans of the penis itself, and very unlikely to be on the shaft itself. Furthermore it's not a different colour or anything like it says on the internet so I'm wondering if its just nothing?

After my circumcision, there appears to be a "ring" of skin a few millimeters back from where I was cut, and this is all the way round (and looks natural - what I was told it would look like), but then the lump is on the right hand side immediatel after this, and is about as long as a finger nail, and wide as it too.

It goes horizontally around the width of my penis.

What do people think, is this a reason to send alarm bells ringing? or am I perfectly safe?

I'm pretty sure cancer is only on the testicles.

I don't mean to sound intrusive, but I think I read about something like this being caused by aggressive masterbation/sex,

IIRC I think the suggested solution is to take lots of aspirin to thin the blood and it will go away on its own, provided there's no touching, ofcourse.

The lump also is right near a vein that dissappears so I'm thinking that its maybe that? Also, just looking again, it appears that there is a similar one, although much smaller on the left hand side immediately after where I have been cut.

i think I noticed these two things before which made me think that it was ok?
I am not an expert obviously, but I would say the chances of it being cancer are pretty small. Though I think it's quite natural to assume the worst in cases like this! If you have had it a couple of months and it's not going away, I would go to the doctor, particularly if you are worried about it.

I just did a search an apparently there's something called penile cancer too. I know the lumps wouldn't have been caused by aggressive masturbation/ intercourse :s-smilie:
go to a doctor. dont leave it.
I couldn't help but giggle at the word 'shaft' -

But immaturity aside, I would disregard cancer as a possibility.

Of course if the problem persists for a few weeks, then you may need to expose your goods to your doctor, but try to put it to the back of your mind for a while.

Like somebody said, it's instinct to think of the worst case, but like I said, try to forget about it for a few weeks.

If you are worried get on down to the doctor - he / she will be able to reassure you in a few seconds and you will stop worrying.
Doubt its cancer - sounds to me like a vein that was cut during your circumcision operation and has swelled up a bit.

Chances of getting penile cancer are about 1 in 100,000. In people, who are circumcised, the chances are much lower than that. And the fact that you are quite young, means the chances of it being penile cancer are even lower still.

Penile cancer normally results in lumps forming on the head of the penis or on the foreskin, not the shaft.

It's probably a sebaceous cyst, which should go away on its own after a while. However, if it's still there after a couple of weeks or if you're worried, then you should go to the doctor

It's probably a sebaceous cyst,

Cheers mate - what exactly is one of these and how are they caused?

It's a sac of a semi-solid white substance called sebum that forms below the surface of the skin. It's normally caused by a blocked sebaceous gland or a swollen hair follicle. The sebaceous glands release sebum to waterproof the hair. It's sebum that makes your hair go oily if you don't wash it for a few days.

Still, I'd suggest you go to the doc if it doesn't go away after a couple of weeks.

Just go to a doctor, or call one...
how tight is your circumcision ? cos it you havent got much skin and it feels tight ,there can be all sorts of implications .nothng major but stuff like that
