when training/not training?

I suppliment my diet with maxi-nutrition lean definintion powder, which recommends 2 shakes a day when training, and one when not.

All very well, but, unless i eat like Jabba the Hutt, i don`t get the required protein intake to allow for optimul muscle growth.

Any thoughts on increasing the powder intake, or should i just be patient, not rush things, and grind myself into poverty by buying god knows how much steak, chicken, turkey, eggs and tuna/salmon?

my mass (the correct term) is 77Kgs - so between 180 and 220 grams...

it`s just SO hard sometimes to find meals that give me the required amount, as well as not leaving out complex carbs! - and which i don`t get thoroughly sick and tired of shoving down my gullet!

"There hasn’t been any recorded advantage of consuming more than 0.64g/lb."

77kg = 170lbs = 110g a day

you don't need anywhere near that amount of protein, 1 gram per lbs of LEAN bodymass is more than enough and should be easy to get from food alone, you shouldn't need any protein shakes unless you're like a vegan or some ****

This. Or 1g per kg of body weight. Or just don't worry about it, eat, lift, win.

always knew this would be a case of some guy lapping up everything the fitness industry throws at him and thinking he needs twice as much protein as he actually does.

thanks guys! - (repped).

Guess i`ve been a little too impatient lately with my progress, and fallen for the hype!

I WILL continue to use shakes, though, but sparingly - i fell into the trap of keeping (too big an) eye on protein, and not focusing enough on intensity of workout.

Will watch how my food intake (esp protein and complex carbs) stacks against my muscle development.

Cheers!
