Hi, Im applying to Bangor, UCLan, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Nottingham
Where are you applying? Do you have any offers if youve sent your form off already?

Hi  I'm applying at SOAS, Oxford, UEA, Exeter and Durham for Archaeology combined with Anthropology (as well as Art History in the cases of UEA and SOAS). I've sent off my application now and I'm terrified!!! My PS is good I think, and I didn't get a chance to see my final reference but I trust my referee, and my predicted grades are stellar (heh); however, my GCSEs are wonderful for all my options except Oxford, which is the one I've kind of got my heart set on, and my ASs are somewhat unimpressive due to some bizarre marking on one exam - I'll be resitting that exam this year and my teachers still predicted me an A* for A2. So I really don't know how it's going to go!

Hey! I'm applying to York, Exeter, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester. York's the one I've got my heart set on and I got my conditional offer 8 hours after sending off my ucas (I hope that's a good sign!). Still waiting on the rest though. Best of luck to you! I loved Nottingham's course, I think it's going to be my insurance  Have you sent off ucas yet?

Ooh wow best of luck to you!! I was considering studying paleoanthropology for the longest time, I'm currently writing a paper on the Rising Star cave discovery in South Africa. May I ask, what are you predicted at A2 overall? I didn't look at Oxford, what's the course like? Don't worry too much about it, it's actually more boring than anything else, I just sit around waiting for emails!

Well done on the offer, my ucas is still waiting for a reference, the college was too preoccupied with oxbridge applicants understandably
I was thinking about York but i wasnt too fond on the way they assess people, doing lectures and seminars myself is not something i want to be marked on, much orefer courseworks or exams

Ooh, I've had the report from that expedition sitting in my browser for weeks! I just haven't had a minute to really sit down and read it all. I'm predicted A*A*A* at A2 so fingers crossed that they'll at least be intrigued enough to invite me to interview - I think then I'll have a chance because I'm really so passionate about it all and I could yammer on about it (intelligently) for ages. I absolutely love the course for its emphasis on pulling different societies together and identifying patterns throughout human culture; it spans loads of different periods and areas and emphasises what they all have in common rather than immediately forcing blinkered specialisation, if that makes sense.

Thank you for the reassurance and well-wishes, good luck to you too!

Mine was too but it all rested on my referee getting it finished quick, which she happened to by chance really. See that's much more my style I absolutely detest exams :afraid: which uni choice is your preferred?

It's fab I've been all over it like a rash for weeks aha. That's pretty bloody amazing! Interviews are an amazing opportunity to show your interest. Sounds fab, one of my closest friends started her first term at oxford recently and she's loving it. Thanks!

I wouldn't mind presentations but teaching a lecture just sounds daunting  for me exams put the pressure on me that i need to revise although i guess the same would apply if i had to hold a lecture in front of a bunch of people
Bangor is my firm atm providing i get an offer, there are some seminars you have to hold yourself but nothing on Yorks level

Hey, Im looking at UCL, Durham, York, Notts and Leicester. Aiming to send my application of this Monday, However I am a resit so I feel that its not going to be 100% in my favour. Hopefully my work experience will bring me through! Best of luck to everyone!!!

Hi
I'm waiting for my tutor to add the references to my application at the moment, but I'm applying to Lampeter and Bournemouth, and am applying to UCLan and Sheffield for foundation degrees as I may not achieve enough UCAS points to get into the other uni's. I study A2 Archaeology, A2 Geography, AS Travel and Tourism, and do an EPQ.

Good luck to you! (Sorry for incredibly late reply) I'm a resit too and I've seen no universities that were put-off by it, at least not in my case. I was considering Durham also as my predicted grades are high enough, what is it you like about the course may I ask? Work experience is always a good plus, what did you do?

Oh what's your EPQ on? I was considering taking an extended project up too. Have you been to Sheffield's open day? I rather liked this, they have great study placement opportunities abroad and career prospects of last years students were fantastic - I think around 40% of them ended up working in heritage! Best of luck!

Good luck! I've applied to Exeter too - only one I haven't heard back from yet. I didn't look at the Edinburgh course, what's it like?
