Good luck! I've applied to Exeter too - only one I haven't heard back from yet. I didn't look at the Edinburgh course, what's it like?

Thank you, and you! I personally think that it looks really interesting and they offer a rather large variety of modules, which is what really hooked me on the course. The modules sort of range in the different aspects such as classical archaeology, classical art, the geography type modules, and anthropology. I don't really make it sound all that great but I'm just bad at explaining things. I also like the 4 year structure

Good luck to you! (Sorry for incredibly late reply) I'm a resit too and I've seen no universities that were put-off by it, at least not in my case. I was considering Durham also as my predicted grades are high enough, what is it you like about the course may I ask? Work experience is always a good plus, what did you do?

Same to you! (and same back) Oh awesome not just me then haha, okay thanks that gives me a bit of hope. See mine weren't but id say just do it, that's why I put it down and you've got nothing to loss at the end of the day. With regards to Durham they have there own commercial unit which I like and also the research they do, As well as being the closest to Scotland with so may frontier Romano British remains and pre historic sites around there. However im liking UCL and York but I dough UCL will look at me.
I shadow Racheal Hall who is head of archaeology for NT in my part of Britain as well as volunteer for a number of different company's with both digging and cleaning. You done any experience?
(Update got a offer from York!! ABB) anyone else heard?

My issue with applying to Durham was simply that they're requested A level grades are higher than York and since I am more inclined to firm York there'd be no sense for me to have an insurance which is higher than my firm. They're work is amazing though and the course looks fabulous! I never looked at UCL, what's their course like? Do you not imagine they'd make an offer? :frown: That sounds like an amazing experience! Very jealous! I've volunteered at my local museum for a year but there isn't any local archaeology opportunities tbh. I really want to go on a dig over the summer though! They got back to me a few hours after I sent my application off (which was surprising!) same offer

Durham was a wild card tbh, I didn't have another Uni I liked so I just shoved it down. Nice im drawn between York and UCL, just wait to see if they offer me a place haha. UCL do some awesome trips but also thye have some really cool specialist courses, one being the Mayans  and a few other really cool Roman and Middle Eastern courses. Offer wise idk, I really hope so but it is so competitive and being a resit with projections that just meet there lower tier I doubt it :frown: It was hard to get in though, Yours is equally as cool though, Unis and jobs love museum voluntary work! I just pestered all of my local ones but sadly in Lincolnshire they are few and far between so I was just lucky to get in. DO IT! im thinking of applying to one abroad just I hate all this "Pay to dig" thing that so many do, Try BAJR though they have a lot that go on there what stuff are you interested? . YAY! congrats  You got a interview?

Fair enough  Wow sounds amazing at UCL! It's competitive definitely, I contacted universities before I applied to see if resitting would make an impact on the offer I received and all of them told me it wouldn't - although I am resitting under extenuated circumstances. I'd love to do one abroad!! Have you done one before? Thanks I'll check them out  No they sent me a conditional offer of ABB, I've just firmed it this morning and insured Sheffield  How's your application going so far?

Yer its so different from what a lot of the other offer! See its a relief to hear that mine was a mixture of that and also just being me, dyslexia doesn't always help -.- and now well everyone's gone of enjoying themselves whilst im still here haha. I've only done a personal study trip aboard to Rome last year but not a dig! only done a few digs here in the UK. NICE! Same offer here, got a interview or o? Ah see your sorted, im still waiting to hear from three of mine, Durham offered me a AAC this morning  But i'll probably end up firming York or UCL depending on what UCL get back to me with.
Swear this whole thing is just so much stress!

Oh what's your EPQ on? I was considering taking an extended project up too. Have you been to Sheffield's open day? I rather liked this, they have great study placement opportunities abroad and career prospects of last years students were fantastic - I think around 40% of them ended up working in heritage! Best of luck!

Sorry for the late reply :L My EPQ is on the development of the English language because of the Anglo-Saxons. I've not been to Sheffield's Open Day but I was thinking that it would be my last resort, with Lampeter being my first and second choice.

Hi,
I applied to Archaeology and Ancient Civilisations, and Archaeology BSc at Durham; Bioarchaeology at York; Ancient History & Classical Archaeology at Warwick; and Ancient History & Ancient Archaeology at St. Andrews.

I have three offers from Durham and York, and am still waiting to hear back from Warwick and St. Andrews - has anyone else hoping to study Classics or Archaeology heard back from these yet?

Hi well done on your offers I've applied for the same courses at Durham..😀 Got offers from Newcastle for ancient history and archaeology and archaeology on its own. Was just wondering when your heard back from Durham? Just me being so impatient ha. I'm hoping to study archaeology and ancient civilisations at Durham 😁

I applied for Exeter, Warwick, Southampton, Cardiff and Durham but I pulled out my application for Durham, I've had offers back from everyone except for Southhampton all at ABB for Ancient History and Archaeology. My predicted grades are AAA and my AS results were AABD. Anyone going to the departmental open day at warwick?

I've received offers from Leicester, Liverpool and Sheffifield for BA Archaeology. Since I'm an international student, I'll have to complete a foundation year first though as I have a Diploma in Game Design.

Hi
I'm waiting for my tutor to add the references to my application at the moment, but I'm applying to Lampeter and Bournemouth, and am applying to UCLan and Sheffield for foundation degrees as I may not achieve enough UCAS points to get into the other uni's. I study A2 Archaeology, A2 Geography, AS Travel and Tourism, and do an EPQ.

Hey im a Lampeter student studying Archaeology and Education studies there been there for 2 years so welcome to ask me any questions if your still thinking of Lampeter as an option
