I am 15, i come from an asian, conservative family and my mum acts pretty innocent all the time. my dad has just re-entered mine and my brother's life after a violent argument broke out between my parents 3 years ago. that's a different story.
last night, i heard my mum moaning, i'm sure it's sex and not just one of those back massages my dad gives her when she's ill (though i like to give them the benefit of doubt i still cant get over what happened) i never expected my mum to behave like this ever, even though it's natural like many have said on other threads.

yes it's natural (sex) but i would HIGHLY prefer if i didnt have to experience that. to make matters worse, my brother who's 8 and scared of the dark sleeps IN THE SAME BED, i am hoping that he was deep asleep because i feel like going in and give him a big hug and say it's ok. yes i have been exposed to sex through a really young age credits to the internet, and i dont mind it at all, but hearing parents though it was a traumatic experience. Should i innocently ask my parents to let my brother sleep in my room from now on? I honestly feel worried that if he sees, it will affect his life later on in a bad way.

I hope you understand that i am not against sex, but experience it through sound is really scary, just goes to show that i am not mentally ready yet to handle things like this. Any one else on the same sinking boat? i really need people's stories to feel better, i have stayed up literally all night reading about this topic and some comments made me laugh but i want to get this out of my head

Hi I've never heard my parents at it probably because my mums been a single mum for most of my childhood, but if I'm honest until I was 14 I didn't even know they EVER actually had sex, I was always told I was conceived through IVF or something because my mum always said sex is wrong or whatever.
I would feel so awkward if I was in your position, but just try to accept that it is a part of life and so on, Next time just stay in your room at night!

It doesn't matter how old you are, I don't think anyone can get past hearing their parents have sex...

Actually, this must be a fairly new problem.

Until a few decades ago, houses were so jam-packed and thin-walled, you'd hear everything in the next room, never mind the squeaking bed banging against the wall and floorboards creaking in rhythm.

A few decades before that and there's a good chance of a working class family all living in the same room. There'd have been no need for sex education, it would have been as commonplace as, well

"Mum, where's my clean socks?"
"Hang on, son. I'll be with you when your father's finished. Oh, actually, your Dad's got them on. Just pull them off, he won't notice."

I heard my parents when I was about 10... it was awful, I had no idea what sex was like back then and I have heard it since, but it's still not any less weird. But your brother being in the same bed, what the heck????

That is one of the funniest things I have ever read on an internet forum!

Being serious though I know you are only 15 and still a kid, but you need to start manning up.

On a scale of 1 to 10 of damaging things parents can do to their children, having sex isn't even a 1.

I bet she gets ill a lot. Sometimes several times in one night, right?

"Oh yes, a little lower, ooh, that's the spot. Harder, harder, don't stop". Gotta get that massage right.

this made me feel a bit better and more sane, i never expected it, it happened all of a sudden omg, i almost cried (in a sad way) but knowing the older generation experienced it often and most do seem sane today i can probably forget about it! thanks
