Warwick or Manchester!?

i know there are lot of these "uni vs uni" threads, but i thought i'd post here instead of getting biased replies in the uni specific forums. Warwick is "seen" as the better uni out of the two right? but im quite worried about the "bubble" and isolation, i'm a london girl and love my going out and meeting new people i dont like the idea that everybody knows everybody! also i've heard the SU is quite expensive at warwick, and the music doesn't really cater for RnB + HipHop fans.

However, manchester i would never get bored...but maybe that's a bad future career move!?

Help me please! I am studying psychology

Thankss:confused:

Do you want to study at a campus or in the city? TBH theres not much between these 2 universities. Warick is a bit more re-owned nationally, however Manchester has the most employers recruiting there.

They're both top 20 uni's. Go with whichever you feel suits you best.

Looking just at the cities, in my opinion, Machester's better than Coventry, (the closest town to Warwick), but both have got worse reputations when it comes to crime etc than quite a few other cities.

Saying that, I've never had any problems when visiting but, compared to where I live (sheffield), you don't feel quite as safe.

If it's purely nightlife and people that are deciding your uni, (was the case with me), I'd definitely go for Manchester as there's simply more there. Manchester Met and Uni of Manchester are very close to each other, and then there's places like Salford, so there's a really good student feel.

I've not spent as much time in Coventry, and not been to Leamington, so I can't give a definite answer, I'd choose Manc above Warwick though.

I'm gonna b honest here, I'm a london boy really into my Drum n Bass love goin out clubbing raving etc whatever you want and I started at Warwick doing PPE in October. Take my advice DONT GO TO WARWICK!!!! 99% of people who are "up for it" particularly those from London regret coming here. You don't get a proper Freshers week, and most of the people who come here are foreign student, geeks or both. Even for the safe people there are its a bit of a mission if u want a proper nite out, it'll take you 30-40 minutes to go to Brum for a proper club night and although that may sound not to bad, when you consider that people at Manchester, Bristol or Leeds only have to walk out their front doors and be in the thick of it!At the end of the day look at it this way, I'm sure many of your friends will be going to a variety of Unis and whilst they are living in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool or Bristol, you will call Royal Leamington Spa your home, Nuff said!!

It's different for the people from villages out in the middle of nowhere who don't know what they r missing out on in the cities, but if you are a london girl who wants the real uni experience to go nuts and go clubbing all the time in your first year especially, take Manchester over Warwick, don't make the same mistake I did!!! I rejected Manchester and Bristol in favour of Warwick!!!
