some help please?

hi

I have recently changed my mind and decided that I would like to pursue a career in medicine. I was just wandering other than what you would like to specialize in, current affairs regarding the NHS and medicine, some general medical terms and information, what else do you need to know about before you go in an interview? ive been doing research as much as i possible can. but how much more should i know and can they ask me other than general questions, scenarios and ethics?

any help would be appreciated!!

cheers people

erm...i think that pretty much covers it.
slip in a little bit about some modern medical history (discovery of antibiotics, sterile techniques, transplants etc) and i don't think you can go far wrong.
of course, much more in this day and age depends on how you look on paper unfortunately.
grades, work experience, extra-curicular activities...
Be able to talk about what you did and, more importantly, what you learned from your work experience. This is not research as such, but it does require a little thought. It's good to make notes on your work experience straight after you do it or you'll just forget (though there are a few patients that really stand out even years later!)

Be able to bull**** about this well, most of the time work experience is really crap!

You don't really need to know what you'd like to specialise in. I've been here nearly 4 years and I still don't.

Depends what you do - spend a week with Mencap = burned into your mrmory - I'll pretty much never forget it.
