American acceptance into Edinburgh?
I've heard through murmurs on the internet that it's easier to get into Edinburgh if you're an American, because the tuition is much higher for international students. I'm interested in the validity of this statement - can anyone say with assurance what the admissions chances for an American student with grades just slightly above the GPA requirement (but with a recommendation from a Cambridge PhD, if that matters) will be?
If you meet the entry requirements and are a strong applicant your chances are good, American or not. International students do bring in a lot of money and while that is taken into consideration, unis have academic standards to maintain.
