dehydration and tiredness?

Is there a connection between dehydration and tiredness as I dont drink a lot at all, i know i should but i dont. I mean like i drink a glass in the morning and probably nothing at school, maybe a small sip, but nothing really untill the early evening. Lately I have just been coming home from school and basically collapsing on the sofa until 5:30-6 with no energy to move. is this connected or could it be to do with my diet?

Any number of factors could contribute to tiredness, but dehydration is certainly a big one. Try drinking squash as opposed to plain water - that might encourage you to drink more. General physical fitness is another major factor that comes to mind, so make sure that you're exercising at least three or four times a week.

Drink some lucozade. That stuff is brilliant. Hangovers, hungry, dehydrated, bored, headache, it cures them all. Damn.

Try drinking 8 or more glasses of water, squash, fruit juice -- basically nothing caffeinated -- per day and see what happens.

Damn right. I'm usually tired and burnt-out by the time I get to work at 6pm, but I drank an entire bottle in one go before my evening shift tonight and I'll tell you what, those people on LSD and speed don't know what they're missing...

yes - dehydration is one of the major contributors to tiredness as James said- you have to drink water - its very important, if you don't like the taste of it or something - at least drink flavoured water or just a drink or something - you need that water to keep your body active - coz your body is constantly using up water for all metabolic processes so by reducing water intake you are slowing down these reactions and hence you are becoming tired
also, dehydration is a very serious problem - so keep your self hydrated at all times
