I visited there this morning and the staff were very friendly and helpful - the receptionist showed me all the important parts of the accomodation too.
My first impression was that it is a quite typically 1960s-1970s building, paints peeling off in general, but overall theres a nice atmosphere, plenty of facilities, lots going on and the computer clusters seem very useful. It is also situated in close proximities to the park which is really nice, and it's a short walk to the Uni [especially if you're a medic]. There are also quite a few cows in the fields nearby which sort of gave it a mild agricultural feel outside [I quite liked this coming from Guernsey].
As far as the ''posh people'' are concerned, I did see a few Leaver's hoodies, a lot of backcombed hair and upturned shirt collars, but I can't really see why that would deter people from going there. Never judge a book by its cover eh?
Sorry this is a long post!
