Italian Universities (especially Bocconi)

I'm thinking about going to Bocconi University in Milan to study the Degree in International Economics and Management.

Can anyone tell me what they know about how Italian universities compare to UK universities? I've heard Italian universities are a lot more work (bus is the workload easier perhaps?).

Also, what do you think of this university and what kind of reputation do you think it has?

Sadly I haven't heard of it, but I only know certain italian universities based on the science I have come across. There are many italian postgraduate students over here in the UK so I shouldn't think there would be a problem in level or anything.

I'm bocconi student.

Bocconi is surely the best italian university and I think it could be compared with englsh universities. Looking at Bocconi's partners you will find London School of Economics, Harward, Fudan university (china leading school) and more than 160 universities, so I think it's well considered all over the world.

The system is quite different from english one. Here the classes are made up of 80 - 100 people so you can't really have a contact with a teacher.

If you need further information I'm here.

Ive heard of Bocconi for its econ/business courses, contrary to your belief, I was told that most Italian universities count on their students to do most of their work. Less supportive than the UK.

I was thinking about applying for Bocconi before looking at their fees..(milan is an expensive city and 8800 euro is a little bit too much for me for a university in my own country ;-))..first of all i should say that it is very prestigious but mostly for their economic deparment, in particular "Economia aziendale" is the best degree you can find there. I heard they have a degree taught in english as well.

As for Bocconi being the best italian university, sorry that is not true..depends on what you want to study.Bocconi is a private university, so offers you small classes and it is easy contacting a teacher after a class.
Other universities(private and prestigious) are for example Luiss for their politics department, or Cattolica for medicine.

Our private universities are expensive(not more than your pubblic ones) but they have smaller classes and of course the teachers are more supportive. As for the pubblic universities, they are huge(thinking about la sapienza which I heard has almost 135.000 students), and yeah try to contact a teacherXD..won't be that easy(brrr i would never go to sapienza XD)

sorry to contraddict you mate.. but the best degree in Bocconi is the DES, CLEP or CLES (Economics) whatever u want to call it. Lol its not popular nobody wants to do it.. cuz it the tougher, infact only 2 classes while CLEAM, the management course, has 9 classes.. as all the pple here in italy who don't know what to do just apply for management. In addition, next year 2 Bocconi students will go to Harvard as exchange students.. those 2 studentes are going to be selected from the Economics department not the Management one. I invite you to search on the uni website, and compare the cv of the professors of CLES with the one CLEAM.. ull find economics teachers having pHD in Ivy League unis..
Im not stating that Management course in Bocconi is bad..its a really good course (Tronchetti Provera came from that course) but for me its not the best. And if it is the best.. definetely not the english program (DIEM or BIEM), as all pple say it is easier.
the harvard exchange prog is for DES and DIEM so I suppose one goes from each not only DES
