Ear piercing

I'm male and about a year ago I had a cartilage ear peicring. I only had i a couple of days but my parents objected quite strongly.

Now I am at uni and am very tempted to get it done again. The whole in the cartilage never repaired so it would not be as painful at all. I only see my partent during the holidays and am in my 1st year of a 4 year degree.

Wat I am asking is, do you think you think I should get it done again but not tell my parents about it or do without?

If you're at Uni, you're at least 18, and so officially an adult, so can therefore do what the hell you want.

If you want to do it, then do it!

i got a new piercing when i got to uni, my parents haven't seen it yet, they went ballistic over the last one...:p:

oh well.

if you want it go for it, I'm sure they'll get over one tiny piercing.
they have to accept its your choice...if you want it done, get it done

At your age, it's time to rebel :proud:
Everyone's right. Like they can really stop you anymore. Your not 12 anymore! Do what ever the hell you want ! x
I got a random piercing in Uni... I got home and showed my parents, and my Mum called it "interesting".
I think you're at an age where you can do what you like to your body, really. I'd just get it done and, if they're irritated, try and calm them. At the end of the day, it's your decision now.
go for it! its your choice not theirs, and if you want one done why not?
If your parents strongly object remind them that it is only a small piercing, that you are over 18, that it does not effect them, and you could do a hell of a lot worse. Maybe suggest that if they don't like the ear piercing would they prefer a nipple one?lol!
lol, I don't get their problem! I reckon you should just go for it!
good luck!
Yeah do it, it's up to you. But only if you're gay. Otherwise everyone's just going to assume you are, because it's not 1992.

If you want to do it then go for it, you are an adult now and if your parents don't like it... tough!

Cartilage piercings hurt like hell though! I had mine done twice (think I would have learned the first time wouldn't you? :p: ) but mine never healed properly and my ear was always swollen! I don't know why anyone would want it done lol
im a 16yr old girl i got it done without parental permission and they got over it within 30 mins of noticing it haha

My cartilage one didn't hurt too much, was a bit sore though for a while..

Anyway OP, just do it, and don't make a point of mentioning it, or it'll seem a bigger issue than it is. Just wear the earring around them and if they mention it, just calmly mention you got it pierced, your an adult, and you like it. Then change the subject.

Do it! Piercings are hot.

Get a tattoo as well, then if your parents complain about the piercing then offer to show them the tattoo. Chances are, once they see that, they wont even care about the piercing...

Nah, he's not gay, just a bit of an idiot for letting his friend pierce something he doesn't know the name of :P
Unless you do know a lot about piercings and were as sterile as possible under the home-piercings condition, in which case, I guess that's better but still, professional = way to go.

To OP: Jesus, you're 18. What can they do?! It's not as if a helix piercing is even slightly out of the ordinary. Also, don't get it gunned. Go to a professional.
Woop, do it. After all, what can they do?
It's your ear - do what you like with it - you're an adult.

Yeah do it if that's what you want -regardless what your parents think- just make sure that's what you really want
Everytime I go home my parents "notice" my cartilage piercing for the first time, and never believe me when I say I've had it done since I was 14, and they made the same reaction then!
