Chemistry Revision through Mindmaps

Poll

Which part of chemistry would you like me to create a mindmap for

You may or may not have seen a thread like this on the physics subforum;

Here is chemistry revision through mindmaps. I hope that I can accomodate every exam board although I am mainly sticking to AQA although if you want me to add anything tell me.

Here is a mindmap showing the different parts of A level chemistry.

I will be picking topics about every 3-7 days then making a mindmap.

First mindmap is part of thermodynamics. It seems that from each topic there will be at least 10-20 mindmaps for each topic, so if you request anything, make it specific.

If there are any corrections to be made, please notify me either by PM or on this thread.

thanx.

Don't really like your mindmaps. They should be simple and elegant. Not random facts on the topic.

Mauve, I see where your coming from slightly saying random facts, except that this is a subtopic from thermochemistry. The reason why the middle is called thermochemistry is that there is not really another title that I can place this information under.

Once I start talking about borne-haber cycles and Hess's law and cycles then that can go under a different node/heading/title. The first mindmap was an introduction before I start going into specifics.

Besides this is linking ideas together and in the past I have found that if I was to use the mindmap at the top of the page and expand from there then the overall size would be too big for me to print on anything smaller than A2.

I ask that you dont pass judgement on me yet and wait until I complete some more. The other fact is that with freemind (google it) I can export as notes as well and so this may be useful to more people than you may think, I may also add this to the wiki.

Any constructive critisism?

First Law and Second Law of T.d.?

will add that soon, think of it as me branching off from the main topic. I feel that large mindmaps packed completely with infromation suffocate me and dont allow me to learn, you might be able to understand what I mean if you look at the physics forum for one of my threads...

This is a super idea. As you are doing aqa chemistry have you done, tranisition ion metal chemistry and knowing all the colours?. Please can you do a mindmap on thayt.

As promised, Here is another mindmap. Hopefully it wont be frowned upon..

Would anyone like me to try using different colour schemes? If there are any mistakes tell me. I might update this and add equations at some point but at the moment my MS word does not have the math equation manager on it. (Its a school computer) Does anyone know of a linux alternative?

Anyone know of a free program for linux to draw mechanisms and reactions?

Reply 17

hey these are great

wondering if u could put it into another format that is easier for me to print

Reply 18

such as pdf?, If your using windows then go to preview and print from there. The problem is the size though...
