    Uni isn't working for me

It's really a bipolar life, one minute everyone will hang out with you, the next minute you are seen as an outcast. Take my flatmates for example, I get on well with them but i'm not close with them (don't have their contact details). I could hang out with them but most of the time i don't and i end up forcing myself to be drunk to hang out with others around halls. I don't go to the kitchen to make food hence i go out and buy takeaways and see my money go down the drain.

I have no friends in this uni, it's just been one fake socialising and i was stupid to think uni would end my Introvertism.

It just makes me want to go home and i do not like my parents and i have nobody at home. It's a shame i'm now looking at national express coach to go home for at least a week.

Not even societies are working so don't bother mention this. I also suspect the reason why uni isn't working as well is because i'm doing a foundation year which has no relation to my subject and this is a huge drawback as everyone is studying for a first year degree.

The only thing i like about uni is that i can hide from people and i'm not living at home with my painful family. I need Guidance, help me.

What type of help, it isn't going to work.

I hate to say this but it looks like i will be going home every single week just because i don't belong in uni

wow its seems you have some challenges here which im sure you can work through and be happy!

I want to know how old are you, which uni you go to, and what sort of halls do you live in? to help you more.

wow your story is so sad, i feel you! you are no alone. you need to try and be close friends with your house mates, be active in making friends, listen to what they are saying, and go out actively to be with them. Im glad you posted on `TSR we can help your year be more happy. Resolve tension and suspence immidiatley with your house mates and try and spend as much time as you possibly can with them. simply just relax this isnt rocket science its a natural thing between people. Be yourself. Make sure you go out and be social and im sure theyll like you.

You have lots of opportunities to make close friends, course members or housemates or societies members and so on.

Why dont you go to the kitchen to make food?

Change your ways you dont want to be miserable for the rest of the year!

As for parents and family, sad you dont get along, is there anything you can do to resolve tension, I dont know what they are like so i cant offer much useful advice.

You don't have to force yourself to be social. If you're an introvert and like to be alone then that's OK, as long as you are happy.
The fact that you feel sometimes as an outcast might just be some form of social anxiety, don't worry about it too much. And make food in the kitchen!

i go to northampton uni and i live in halls. Although the uni is outstanding and this is the first time i'm enjoying a education facility (hated school and college), its all fake.

It's the foundation year that is 80% depressing me. I will graduate at 24 which i don't really want to do. Age difference is a main factor currently in this issue. I can't make food in the kitchen because i no longer have anything to say to my housemates unless if i'm drunk

Alcohol is helping me stay in uni. Without it, it's pretty difficult.

This isn't attention, this is a crisis.

Just imagine you have been longing a dream for a very long time and once you finally achieved your dream, it's not what its cracked up to be.

Maybe i'm just moaning so i wouldn't calling 'attention'

Definitely attention you are craving. Uni is what you make it and quite frankly your the one ruining it for yourself. Goto student services and get some counselling.
