Hi, I was wondering how much do other students on average spend on food within a typical week? Where do you buy your food? Do you care about the quality and do you think it is possible to eat well and save money, or do you only look at the price?

I spent £25 per week on food and toiletries with a lot of fresh food. I manly shopped at Aldi, Heron's and the market.

Pretty much what Raskas said. I spend around the same.
It is completely possible to eat well and cheaply, so long as you don't live somewhere with only two expensive food shops.
Shop around, find out who does what cheaper and learn from it.

I buy my food from: Aldi, Asda and home bargains. Used to get some stuff from Iceland too but not been in a while.

I spend around £30 but could spend less if I wanted to. I feel like I eat quite indulgently, have a lot of treats and so on. I also only shop at Tesco. I don't drive and Aldi isn't on a bus route and is quite far so I'd rather pay an extra few quid for the convenience of the nearby Tesco.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
