I know of a few Btec students from certain London boroughs who managed to get onto a 11 month work experience with KPMG. I am however in my first year of uni studying a science related degree. I would like to branch off into the business/finance field and think I can benefit from similar work experience like that of KPMG school leavers programme.
Is there similar programmes available for students who are in first year uni? Something I could do in the summer holidays for example.

Penultimate year there is a summer vacation scheme, four weeks.
Can you change your degree course into a sandwich degree and do an industrial placement?
