i like him..nowwhat

Im at university in my first year. I was disliking university then I met this guy. I havent had a relationship before and im not planning to tell him this as it appears hes had quite a few. At first he seemed quite keen, we laughed and talked when we met straight away as if we'd known each other for years. I dont think hes shy with girls as he asked me for my number and email add, and he texted me and i texted back. He called once also. But recently hes gone quiet. I went out with him after a class but we haven't been on a propper date. Soon I'll go home for easter, and Im worried ive given mixed signal or he just doesnt know if he likes me anymore. I texted him asking him to meet up once but he couldnt then, as had to help his mate move out. I dont think i should text him next but basically what can i do or say that might encourage him to maybe speed it up a notch..
